| Reports and other information related to this Regional Shared Services Study, funded in part by the NJ Department of Community Affairs will be posted here to keep the participating municipalities, other entities and the public informed. |
| In this era of increasingly scarce
resources, budget shortfalls, and more competitive grant programs, the
concept of sharing municipal services takes on considerable
significance. Triad Associates, working with Cumberland Development
Corporation, lead municipal partner Upper Deerfield and community
leaders from the participating municipalities, will in this study,
explore the current status of shared services in the region, collect and
analyze data, point out potential for new and/or expanded shared
services, encourage communication and action on shared services and
develop consensus for a common agenda and action steps needed to turn
the report into valuable shares services wherever possible. Therefore it is the mission of this project to work closely with the municipal leaders and officials of these towns who have historically, in less formal ways, shared services and kept services and costs to a minimum, to make recommendations that may formalize some existing informal sharing of services and lead to timely, implementation new additional shared services that will save money for the municipalities and their taxpayers and/or enhance the level of service for residents and serve as an examples (best practices) for other communities in the State to follow. |

Participating Municipalities: • Bridgeton • Commercial • Deerfield • Downe • Fairfield • Hopewell • Lawrence • Maurice River • Millville • Shiloh • Stow Creek • Upper Deerfield • Vineland
